How it began

My name is Paula Scott, I am a primary school teacher in Scotland. In 2004, I was given the opportunity to teach in a primary school in a small village in Malawi, Southern Africa. While I was there I fell in love with the people and the culture. I returned to Malawi in October ’05 to see people again.

 

While visiting the homes of many pupils I noticed that young children in the village had little to occupy them. With my experience in education and love for children I decided to build a nursery.

Through the building and operating of the nursery I saw a way to give employment to local people, provide care, education and one nourishing meal a day to children in their pre-school year.
